Nokia Announced Nokia 9 PureView smartphone with 5-lens Camera

HMD Global, which is home to Nokia smartphones, recently unveiled the Nokia 9 PureView smartphone with penta-lens camera setup at an event in Barcelona on the sidelines of MWC 2019. Do you think HMD Global killed it with this one or five cameras on the rear of a smartphone is absolutely unnecessary and the company went overboard?

Nokia 9 PureView has now started receiving its major software up in the US. And to make things even more appealing, HMD Global announced earlier today that the Nokia 9 PureView is getting a small but important update before it even reaches stores.

To think that the Nokia brand was "dead" for a couple of months but now boasts of headline-grabbing products is an indication of the good work HMD Global has done with the brand. To top it all off, HMD Global has also made sure to equip the cameras with ToF (time of flight) technology and a LED flash. The fact that the device can capture uncompressed, high-quality RAW DNG files and shoot up to 240 megapixels of data seems to be an attestation to the device being focused towards photographers.

Native black-and-white photography. Three f/1.8 monochrome sensors enable native monochrome mode.

Additionally, the Nokia 9 PureView includes a USB Type-C port and 3320 mAh battery that also comes with Qi Wireless charging support.

The Nokia PureView is also IP67 certified for water and dust resistance.

We finally got to see the latest Nokia at the Mobile World Congress 2019, and it looks incredible! All of the five cameras have the focal length of 1.8mm and aperture of 28mm. We are talking about edge to edge display, a 6-inch, 2880×1440 resolution screen, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. The set of features it comes with is very enticing and can be a flagship killer for other companies.
