Raiders To Hire Mike Mayock As GM

The Oakland Raiders have hired Mike Mayock to be their new General Manager. He is now the NFL Network Draft Analyst.

"I've been in all 32 buildings for the last 15 years", he said. I know what it looks like, I know what it smells like. Mayock has plenty of college scouting experience, but he acknowledged he will need help in the day-to-day operations.

Gruden says he loves his coordinators and the schemes they're putting together. The team then acquired a first-round draft pick, along with several other picks, in a blockbuster deal by sending star defensive end Khalil Mack to the Chicago Bears in September.

Oakland acquired those picks by dealing McKenzie's best two first-round picks from his seven-year tenure in Oakland.

One of the decisions the team will have to make is with starting quarterback Derek Carr. Gruden just got through coaching this team to a four-win season, and somehow he's happy with everyone and everything.

This season was up there with some of the worst in that stretch. The team will have money to spend in free agency, but deciding how to do so will be the challenge.

"Always telling him how much I respect his outlook and measured approach to talent evaluation", Davis said.

Mayock, a former safety with the New York Giants, spent the last 14 years with NFL Network after concluding his playing career.

Oakland was outscored by 177 points on the season, the second-worst mark in the National Football League to Arizona.

The Raiders had already been slated to play one 2019 game in London and had played at Wembley Stadium back in October. With Las Vegas on the horizon in 2020 and bringing in Jon Gruden this past offseason, things are starting to take shape for a big turnaround. "It really comes down to ... let's get to the right answer for the Oakland Raiders". The Raiders moved fast.
