One of the main things Fernandez remembers about Ocasio-Cortez at BU is her ability to listen. She never doubted her chances.

"I never really saw myself running on my own", she told NY magazine "I counted out that possibility because I felt that possibility had counted out me".

Greer noted the big differences between Ocasio-Cortez's race and the gubernatorial primary, and said Cuomo's move to the left shows he recognizes the risk of a progressive insurgency, even if he won't admit it.

She put a down payment on that hope yesterday.

The Bronx native and member of the Democratic Socialists of America was the first candidate in 14 years to even attempt to unseat Rep. Crowley.
