Following the news that Liverpool were hopeful of signing Lyon's Nabil Fekir before the World Cup, it's now being reported by that the deal will be sealed on Friday.

According to French newspaper L'Equipe, the Reds have agreed a deal worth £57 million (€65 million) for the 24-year-old and he will have a medical on Friday.

Liverpool are confident of completing a £55m deal for France star Nabil Fekir in the next 24 hours after Lyon gave the green light to conclude the transfer before the World Cup. Fekir is set to play for France on Saturday evening against the United States of America, a game that will take place in Lyon's Stade des Lumieres.

But Aulas has revealed that the transfer is not close and is unlikely to happen before the start of the World Cup next Thursday.

Liverpool have wasted no time in strengthening their midfield ranks having already signed Fabinho from Monaco and Naby Keita Red Bull Leipzig.

Reports on Wednesday also suggested that Liverpool were giving serious thought to activating the relegation release clause in Xherdan Shaqiri's contract at Stoke City.

"We have not set a base price because we have not discussed this yet".

Bayern Munich and Atlético Madrid have also been linked with Fekir, who can operate in a number of forward roles and would in effect be Philippe Coutinho's replacement at Anfield.
