It'll be available to download directly after Apple's WWDC keynote from the face gallery on the iPhone's Watch companion app.

The company could always choose to include support with later beta versions ahead of the watchOS consumer roll out this autumn, but it looks an terrible lot like Apple is drawing a line under the original's run. watchOS 5 also introduces Walkie-Talkie, a feature that lets users send quick voice memos from person to person.

Apple now offers plenty of new Apple Watches to choose from, although no new hardware refresh was announced during the WWDC opening keynote.

Apple will release watchOS 5 as a free update for Apple Watch Series 1 and later, dropping the support for the original Apple Watch. Still, it is worth noting that Apple is not offering a full-featured browser experience.

Another standout feature is listed for students, replacing student ID cards.

There's also a new Walkie-Talkie app, which does exactly what it sounds like. It only works at a few campuses but you'll be able to pay for meals, unlock rooms and more. The watch face is simple, showcasing the pride rainbow with the time.
