The initial trailer for the film, to be released May 25, seemed intent on assuring fans that "Solo" will be a more typically somber chapter in the science-fiction franchise. The trailer opens with Qi'Ra (played by Emilia Clarke of Game of Thrones fame) asking young Han Solo (being played by Alden Ehrenreich) about what he is after?

Clarke pops up again at the 0:54 mark when she's asked if she has "a line on a ship". "Money? Or is it something else?" There are some red flags, but the film has Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian to save the day. My first impression is this is where Solo wins the Millennium Falcon off of Lando.

There's still no sign of Paul Bettany, however, who replaced Michael Kenneth Williams as the villain Dryden Vos when the latter was unable to do reshoots. This might be the biggest draw to the entire film for me.

That means the Wookiee is a centenarian twice over when he runs into Luke Skywalker in that bar on Tatooine in the original "Star Wars: A New Hope". To savor it. We already know the rest of the story. He tells the young Solo that once he chooses this life of crime, he can't opt to return to a normal life. Han is soon recruited for a job and we have him telling Woody Harrelson aka Tobias Beckett that he was a driver, a flyer and has "waited for a long time for a shot like this".

While the trailer is solid, I'm not sure it shows almost enough of either Lando or Han for me to tell whether or not it'll live up to the name.

For those who are confused, it's the second standalone film from Disney and Lucasfilm following 2016's Rogue One.

The trailer in question is packed with high-flying action. There will definitely be a space chase with the Empire hunting down the Falcon.

The high octane trailer features fights, train heists, intergalactic battles and even when Han met Chewy.

It might not be all out war, but the war between the Rebels and the Empire definitely looks to be a major factor in the film.
