The plane departed from Scottsdale Airport and crashed shortly at the TPC Scottsdale Champions Course, said Kevin Watts with the Scottsdale Police Department.

A small plane which crashed near Scottsdale Airport in Arizona on Monday killed everyone on board.

Scottsdale police believe the aircraft, a Piper PA24, originated from Scottsdale Airport, near Hayden Road and Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard, and crashed shortly after takeoff.

Police officers told the media that they received multiple calls about the crash.

Watts said he didn't know where they were headed before the crash.

KNXV reported the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is investigating the crash. The single-engine Comanche can have four or six seats.

The crash happened at the home of the Waste Management Phoenix Open, one of the more popular tournaments on the PGA Tour.
