Small businesses all across the United States are preparing for their own shopping holiday, Small Business Saturday. And this year - owners are looking to do more business.

As part of the promotion, small businesses have a number of sales and discounts available.

As customers flooded Unglued Friday afternoon, Morken began blowing up balloons to spell out "SHOP SMALL" for her store Saturday morning.

For Road Runner, he says that's huge.

It was the first time for some who were popping in and out of local boutiques. "Employers can hire more people, it's better for the tax base". This Saturday, local businesses welcomed customers to their shops to help them thrive.

"We get new stuff every day so it's always different, it's always something new and I think that goes for everybody down here in NuLu". "I know Tina is giving away some free classes as well", said artist and manager of High Cotton Arts Gallery Sonya Gordon.

"We like to support our community and today is the day we want the community to support us", Jackson said.
